2013 Nissan Altima

2013 Nissan Altima
Over the past decade, the Nissan Altima has been one of our most popular midsize sedan. The reasons are many, but especially the Altima has a lot of practice with driving pleasure "that is often lacking in this segment of vehicles provided. However, the current generation has already quite old in comparison with the costs of Hyundai models, Toyota and Volkswagen. As such, the 2013 Nissan Altima will be completely renovated, with updates scheduled for style, performance and fuel economy.

The new Altima would be a little sharper still, enough to transmit the dynamic sweep of rivals Hyundai and Kia, without alienating loyal buyers.
Nissan probably get a little more performance "of the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which currently produces 175 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Given the trends Altima sport, we expect four-cylinder with manual six-speed. The 3.5-liter V6 is probably still intact, it is already one of the highest in its class.

More importantly, we expect to achieve Nissan, a couple of mpg highway for the Altima extraction based limousine or exceed above others.
Development of an additional engine for the four-cylinder engine - possibly direct - and a more efficient transmission CVT, the Altima mpg rating base should take at least once with the Camry 2012 Toyota, which is estimated at 35 mpg highway.

Currently there are no words, if Nissan Altima Coupe will offer next-generation cars.
And while the Altima Hybrid was discontinued at the end of the 2011 model year, we would not see again the rule in 2014, this time (with the current Altima Hybrid Toyota) with its own hybrid system and, more importantly, 50 - state of readiness.

Expect the 2013 Nissan Altima from the fall of 2012.
Come back later for more news and driving impressions as they become available.

Nissan Leaf Nismo revealed

Nissan Leaf Nismo revealed
The Nissan LEAF Nismo. We’d expect the LEAF to be the last car Nissan would add Nismo bits to. Standing proud and butch on Nissan’s Tokyo Motor Show stand is a Nismo worked-over version of the LEAF, Nissan’s electric car for the masses.

Nissan are calling the LEAF Nismo a concept, but it seems pretty clear they intend putting it in to production. Sitting inside Nissan's Smart House perched above the automaker's booth here at the Tokyo Motor Show was a fitting setting to talk about Nissan's plans for future electric vehicles.

Nissan is committed to a zero-emissions future. Carlos Ghosn, Nissan's President and CEO, maintains that 10 percent of the global automotive market will be comprised of electric vehicles in 10 years. So seeing a Nismo version of the Leaf sharing the stage with Ghosn implies that Nissan is at least exploring the possibility of a sports-oriented EV. Once that happens, Nissan can justify production of an electron-powered sports car.

“Nismo adds even more excitement and innovation to Nissan products. In 2011, Nismo-developed Nissan GT-R racecars won the Drivers’ and Team titles in Japan’s SUPER GT championship and also took the Drivers’ title in the FIA GT1 World Championship.

Nismo-developed engines won their class in the Le Mans 24 Hours and the company has also developed the remarkable trail-blazing LEAF Nismo RC, the world’s first all-electric racing car. “Nismo has carved out an enviable reputation in motor racing,” said Carlos Ghosn, Nissan President and CEO.

2011 Nissan Pivo 3 Concept

Remember Nissan’s quirky Pivo 2 concept from 2007? Or how about the original Pivo from 2005? The Pivo 3 is actually Nissan’s eight electric car concept, and highlights yet again the Japanese automaker’s dedication to zero emission driving.

This small size, plus a pair of in-wheel motors enable an extremely small turning radius with zero turn gap and allows the Pivo 3 to park in very tight confines.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., presents the Nissan PIVO 3 Concept car at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.

Automated Valet Parking (AVP) enables Nissan PIVO 3 to automatically drive, locate a parking space and park without driver assistance in the infrastructure equipped parking lots envisioned for the future.

2012 Nissan GT-R

We've already driven the 2012 Nissan GT-R, but only now has Nissan released official details. The engine's efficiency has been improved too, with fuel economy rising from 23.5mpg to 24mpg.

At this stage there's still no figures for 0-62mph, top speed or CO2 emissions as the car is still undergoing performance testing, but expect a 0-62mph time in around three seconds and a top speed nudging 200mph.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the 2012 Nissan GT-R. Significant improvements to the engine, chassis and transmission, plus a new lightweight "For TRACK PACK" version (currently available in some market such as Japan, UK), which accentuates the pure performance potential of the Nissan GT-R are the key changes to Nissan's flagship model for the 2012 model year.

As well as more power, the 2012 Nissan GT-R has a newly developed asymmetric suspension which compensates for greater weight on the driver's side in RHD models, enhanced transmission 'feel' and a stronger body for extra rigidity and ever better handling.

Engine
Improved intake efficiency
Improved exhaust emissions efficiency and enhanced control
Reduced air flow resistance thanks to a more compact under floor catalyzer which improves emissions efficiency and reduces weight
Improved exhaust valve cooling performance by the adoption of a newly-designed metallic sodium-filled valve. At the same time, valve control timing, the air mixture ratio and ignition timing have been improved

Suspension and brakes

Accounting for the added weight of the driver in a right-hand drive vehicle coupled to the fact that the propeller shaft for front wheels is located on the right side of the vehicle; the Nissan GT-R's suspension in RHD versions has been set asymmetrically. NCCB (Nissan Carbon Ceramic Brakes) are available as a factory-installed option for the
Nissan GT-R Premium Edition and EGOIST grade.
