2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo


November 9, 2011 – Oxnard, Calif. – Oxnard Hyundai is excited to confirm, Hyundai Motor America’s CEO John Krafcik confirmed the automaker is planning a turbocharged Veloster.

The 2013 Veloster Turbo is scheduled to Debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.

According to Hyundai, a 16-liter. turbocharged engine will power the Veloster. Oxnard Hyundai is proud to serve the greater Ventura County.

Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik announced the car tonight at an event on the eve of the 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Krafcik promised the car would debut at the 2012 Detroit auto show in January alongside a face-lifted Genesis coupe. If the 204-hp number proves accurate, that would place the top-dog Veloster precariously close to the base Genesis coupe's. 210-hp figure.

At the SEMA Show Hyundai does have plans to unveil a turbocharged Veloster, but it won’t be a production car. Built by ARK Performance, the race-inspired tuner car (above) will, however, sport a 210-hp twin-scroll turbocharged 16-liter.
