2004 Ford Mustang

With an all-new model scheduled for '05, there are few changes for the 2004 Ford Mustang. All models wear commemorative 40th anniversary exterior badging, while V6 and GT models can be ordered with a full 40th anniversary package that includes additional exterior and interior enhancements.

General Motors released a sexy new Camaro and Firebird duo in '82, so Ford countered by continually updating the Mustang GT and engineering a special turbocharged performance model called the SVO. In the late 1980s, Mustang enthusiasts heard that Ford planned to replace the rear-drive model with a front-drive car based on a Mazda. To retain buyer interest, Ford kept boosting power and improving the Mustang in subtle but effective ways. In 1999, the Mustang was updated with boxy new styling and more power. Base, Deluxe and Premium models have a V6 engine.

The GT Deluxe, GT Premium and Mach 1 get a V8. Coupes are available in each trim, while the convertible is limited to regular and GT versions of Deluxe and Premium trim. Deluxe models add a power driver seat, cruise control and a spoiler on coupes; additionally, the GT Deluxe gets 17-inch wheels, an upgraded suspension, sport seats and a limited-slip differential.

Powertrains and Performance
Standard on base, Deluxe and Premium Mustangs is a 190-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6. Four-wheel disc brakes are standard on the 2004 Ford Mustang. Antilock brakes and traction control are optional on all Deluxe models and standard on all Premium and Mach 1 models. The Mustang coupe received five-star frontal crash test scores for the driver and passenger.

Lee Iacocca Ford Mustang

Lido A.Lee Iacocca Ford Mustang was born on October 25, 1924.(Lido would change his name to Lee after going to work for Ford. Lees parents worked hard to provide for their family. Nicola believed in America. Lee was never afraid of work. Lee attributes his work ethic to the example set by his father.

The depression hit his family just as hard as the rest of the country. Lee feels the depression had a direct impact on his life. In grade school Lee came face to face with ethnic intolerance. Lee married Mary McCleary in 1956. Rather than introduce himself as
Lee Iacocca Ford Mustang, he stated that his first name was Iacocca, and his family name was Lee. The program was a huge success. His district went from last place in sales to first place. Due to this program it was estimated that an extra 75,000,000 cars were sold.
The program was a huge success. His district went from last place in sales to first place. Due to this program it was estimated that an extra 75,000,000 cars were sold.

Another project that
Lee Iacocca Ford Mustang undertook was the Fairlane Committee. This committee used research data to decide what type of new car to produce. This project allows us a glimpse of Lees business management style. He used good marketing research data, he surrounded himself with good people, and he was willing to listen to them. Lee became known as the Father of the Mustang.
After the huge success of the Mustang, Lee was made President of Ford on December 10,1970. This program gave managers 3 years to make their departments profitable or sell them off .

The car was to be developed for fuel economy and price to compete with foreign cars that were already on the market. By the end of 1975 Lee began having trouble at Ford. Most of this seemed to be a personality conflict between Henry Ford II and Lee. It didnt take long for Lee to figure out that Chrysler was in a state of emergency. Each department seemed to be working in a vacuum. Lee was not able to pull everything together and make it work. By 1983 Lee had Chrysler back on their feet, and on July 13, 1983 Chrysler paid back all their government loans.

Managers need to be decision makers as well as motivators. Businesses dont have the luxury of slow decision making today.

1969 Mustang,Reviews

Ford put a lot of effort into the 1969 Mustang. The Mustang was significantly restyled, but it was still pure Mustang. All Mustangs were lowered 0.5 inch on the suspension and the windshield rake was increased by 2.2 degrees. The restyle looked particularly effective on the Mustang fastback model, now called the SportsRoof. Convertibles and hardtops used a simulated rear quarter panel vent. The Deluxe Interior was standard equipment on the Grande, Mach 1 and Boss 429 models.

There were plenty of 1969 Mustang models to choose from in 1969. For those desiring high mpg, there was the rare Mustang E- a specially equipped Mustang Sportsroof designed for economy. Mustang E letttering on the rear quarters identified the Mustang as such.

The GT Equipment Group option was still available on all three body Mustang body styles as long as the engine was 351 c.i. or larger. It was the Mach 1 Mustang that Ford placed emphasis on for those desiring a high performance. Besides the models mentioned, there were also the Boss 302 and Boss 429 Mustangs. These limited production Mustangs were built so that Ford could qualify the 1969 Mustang for racing.

In addition to model proliferation, there was also engine proliferation. Including the Boss 1969 Mustang, there were ten Mustang engines to choose from! The two-barrel carburetor version was rated at 250 hp while the four-barrel was rated 290 hp. The 428 c.i. Cobra Jet V-8 was the top engine option. It shook, as the engine idled.

Four Mustang Iacocca,Reviews

An online charity auction under way includes an extremely limited-edition Ford Mustang Iacocca that once belonged to Lee Iacocca, the former Ford andChrysler executive and a principal architect of the muscle-car movement. Bundled with the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Mustang is a feature as novel as the vehicle itself: a Los Angeles lunch with Mr. Iacocca.
Courtesy of a supercharger, the model being auctioned generates 400 horsepower.
The 1965 Ford Mustang Iacocca was unveiled to hundreds of reporters by Lee Iacocca at the New York World's Fair on April 13, 1964. The Mustang had been championed by Iacocca, an ambitious car salesman who rose through the ranks on smarts and self-assurance to become head of the Ford division.

Incidentally, this is Ford's first international press introduction. Incidentally, this is Ford's first international press introduction. We can't think of any [Ford] product... that has generated more advance interest than the Four Mustang Iacocca. Let me put the Mustang into perspective. Third, the Mustang will have an astonishingly low price -- so low we plan to introduce it with an intensive campaign of price advertising. The suggested retail price for a two-door Mustang hardtop with standard equipment, delivered at a Detroit dealership, will be just $2368. Fourth, the Mustang will be built at two assembly plants -- Dearborn, Michigan, and San Jose, California.

Finally, we plan to fit the Four Mustang Iacocca into our program of performance events. We don't claim the Mustang...can be all things to all people.
