2012 Nissan Murano

We have good news and bad news. The good news is that Nissan has just announced pricing for the 2012 edition of the popular Murano crossover.

At the top of the line sits the 2012 Murano LE with all-wheel drive, which rings in at $39,900. In-between those two, you'll find six other models: the Murano S AWD, Murano SV FWD, Murano SV AWD, Murano SL FWD, Murano SL AWD, and Murano LE FWD. Both the 2012 Nissan Murano and the 2012 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet are now available at dealers nationwide.

So popular is Nissan Murano in Russia that the country has three model grades on offer, while the majority of Western Europe countries concentrate on the most luxurious version only.

Nissan Murano is the third string to Nissan's Crossover bow, providing a range-topping model above Juke and Qashqai. Refined and comfortable, Nissan Murano is noted for its high levels of equipment. For the vast majority of markets this means 20-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate and colour rear and kerbside cameras all fitted as standard.

Murano also features Nissan Connect Premium satellite navigation system with 7-inch touch screen, HDD 9.3 Gb music server, iPod, Bluetooth and aux connectivity combined with premium 11 speaker BOSE system and the option of a rear seat DVD entertainment system.

The
2012 Murano is priced $800 more than last year's model, but the open-top version drops down $1,840.

With all-wheel drive, the prices climbs to $31,700.
Murano S FWD $30,100
Murano SV FWD $33,670
Murano SL FWD $37,210
Murano LE FWD $39,110
Murano S AWD $31,700
Murano SV AWD $35,270
Murano SL AWD $38,810
Murano LE AWD $40,710

2012 Nissan Qashqai

The 2012 nissan qashqai have been as an addendum to the Nissan Qashqai. Nissan Qashqai has embellished famous British vehicles.

The reality is that there is absolutely no difference between the Nissan Qashqai and Qashqai +2. LEAF Review of 2012 Nissan cars and electrical specifications.

Fantastic news from Nissan about developing and building the next generation Qashqai in the UK. The new car will be shaped by Nissan Design Europe out of Paddington (that’s London for our non-UK readers) and engineered at Nissan’s tech centre in Cranfield (that’s Bedfordshire, somewhere near London).

As part of this strategy Nissan is introducing a new Pure Drive version of the top selling Nissan Qashqai equipped with a new state-of-the-art 1.6 dCi engine.

The new Pure Drive 1.6 dCi Nissan Qashqai, especially with innovative features like Stop / Start System and the Around View Monitor, will cement our leadership of the Crossover segment," he added.

The new engine and Stop / Start System has been a joint development between Europe and Japan with Alliance Partner Renault concentrating on the engine and Nissan perfecting the automatic cut off system. As a result, Nissan Qashqai models built between now and December and powered by the new engine will not have Stop / Start.

Nissan's Pure Drive champion is, naturally, the zero emission 100% electric Nissan LEAF but the recently introduced Nissan Micra DIG-S heads the conventionally-powered cars.
Available on both Nissan Qashqai and Qashqai +2 models, the new dCi engine has been jointly developed with Alliance partner Renault.

Its arrival in Qashqai is in line with Nissan's policy of 'penalty-free' engine downsizing: the 1.6-litre direct injection diesel engine gives the fuel economy and emissions expected from an engine of its size, but with power and torque figures anticipated from a 2.0-litre engine.

The 1.6 dCi features Stop / Start System. More power, lower fuel consumption and lower emissions.

It provides the dynamic driving performance expected of a 2.0-litre diesel yet produces fuel consumption and emission figures better than the 1.5-litre dCi unit," said Jerry Hardcastle, Vice President, Vehicle Design and Development, Nissan Europe. The latest generation of Nissan developed continuously variable transmission will be introduced on 117PS 1.6-litre petrol-powered Nissan Qashqai models early 2012. The CVT version will increase Qashqai's market coverage.

Since its launch in March 2007, the Nissan Qashqai has redefined Europe's mid-size hatchback market.

2007 Nissan Quest

The 2007 Nissan Quest gets a midcycle refresh. The Quest's controversial pillar-style center stack has been retired, with its gauges and controls finding a somewhat more traditional home on the minivan's instrument panel. Nissan has also improved the center-stack design, expanded storage capability and added auto-folding headrests to the third-row seat. Overall, the changes to the 2007 Nissan Quest are welcome.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2007 Nissan Quest minivan is available in four trims: 3.5 base, 3.5 S, 3.5 SL and 3.5 SE. The top-of-the-line 3.5 SE trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, foglights, power-sliding doors on both sides, a sunroof, heated leather seats, a power front-passenger seat, a backup camera, and an upgraded 265-watt, 10-speaker Bose audio system. Major options, depending on the trim level, include a Seat Package with a third-row flat-folding third-row bench seat and second-row captain's chairs; a fixed front-row center console; satellite radio; Bluetooth connectivity; a navigation system; and a rear DVD entertainment system.

Standard on all Quest minivans are front-seat active head restraints, side curtain airbags for all three rows, traction control, a tire-pressure monitor and antilock brakes with brake assist.

Driving Impressions
The
2007 Nissan Quest is an enthusiast-oriented option in the minivan category; the van is acquiescent around corners and offers sharp steering.

2010 Nissan GTR

A journalist neighbor called and asked if I wanted to drive the Nissan GT-R that had just been dropped in his driveway. The GT-R’s interior is not very impressive. Some cars are rapiers, others a broadsword. The GT-R is a battleax. The GT-R rides hard, like a track ready Viper.

The Nissan’s four wheel-drive system works to put all the power to the ground… sort like a lightning bolt. Not fast like your “chipped” turbo car. Fast like a liter-class superbike. Unlike many cars, the four wheel-drive system in the GT-R does not dampen the fun. With the huge resources on tap, it makes the car civilized. Even in this worst case scenario, the GT-R’s engineering integrity reigned supreme.

The car tracked predictably, up until the low (frozen tire) limits of adhesion. The traction control system stepped in a femtosecond after the car reached its limits of adhesion. The GT-R’s transmission and driveline had a steady whine, and the front airdam was adventurous (read low) for a production car. The GT-R’s rumbling exhaust note projects the same uber-tuner car feel. Nissan’s decision to make this a limited production halo car is completely correct. It’s Unobtanium, unlike a Porsche GT3 or AMG Black Series.

The
2010 Nissan GT-R's launch control system has been reprogrammed to reduce transaxle stress. The 2010 Nissan GT-R marks the second year of production for Nissan's iconic supercar. One of the secrets to the 2009 GT-R's eye-popping numbers was its launch control system, but it put undue stress on the car's rear-mounted transaxle. Despite the car's sizable cabin and trunk space, this ride quality issue can make road trips in the GT-R less appealing. All said, the 2010 GT-R easily retains its title as the most accessible exotic sports car on the planet.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2010 Nissan GT-R is a high-performance sports car available only in coupe form with a 2+2 seating layout. The Premium model adds higher-performance tires, heated fronts seats and an 11-speaker Bose audio system with two subwoofers.

The
2010 Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 485 hp and 434 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission routes this power to the ground via an advanced all-wheel-drive system. In testing, we've timed the GT-R (with the transmission reprogramming) from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

Standard safety features on the
2010 Nissan GT-R include massive antilock Brembo brakes, stability control and traction control. Front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags are standard on all GT-R models for 2010. The 2010 Nissan GT-R's interior is a somber but appropriately driver-centric environment in which to make haste. The GT-R also features a trick multifunction performance monitor that offers 11 different informational displays.

Driving Impressions
The
Nissan GTR'S employs a V6 in place of the iconic inline-6 from the old Skyline GT-Rs, the new car's spiritual ancestors.

2012 Nissan GT-R msrp,Reviews

A new GT-R Black Edition debuts.
Where high technology meets high performance, you find some serious automobiles. As an example, look no further than the
2012 Nissan GT-R. As the representative of Nissan's latest technology, the GT-R packs some pretty serious hardware, including a fire-breathing twin-turbo V6, a dual-clutch automated manual transmission, an advanced all-wheel-drive system and a sport-focused suspension with adaptive dampers. The GT-R's performance numbers push it into supercar category, yet the Nissan maintains a significantly lower price point.

This year the Nissan GT-R expands its performance envelope even farther. The 2012 Nissan GT-R is a high-performance sport coupe with a 2+2 seating layout that is offered only in the Premium trim level.

Standard features include 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires, automatic xenon headlights, LED running lights, Brembo brakes, an electronically adjustable suspension, leather/faux-suede upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control and an 11-speaker Bose CD/MP3 audio system with two subwoofers, satellite radio, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth phone and streaming audio. A new GT-R Black Edition adds lightweight black wheels, a unique black and red interior and leather Recaro seats.

Powertrains and Performance
Th
e 2012 Nissan GT-R is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine that generates 530 hp and 488 lb-ft of torque. Standard safety features on the GT-R include antilock Brembo brakes, stability control and traction control. In Edmunds brake testing of a previous GT-R, we've recorded a best 60-0-mph stopping distance of 98 feet, which ranks among the shortest distances we've ever seen.
The rather austere cabin of the 2012 Nissan GT-R is meant to convey an impression of performance and technology.

Driving Impressions
The
2012 Nissan GT-R achieves an impressive level of performance by utilizing technology rather than brute force. Road noise can be intrusive at times, but we think it's a small price to pay for the 2012 Nissan GT-R's otherworldly performance.

2012 Nissan Versa Reviews

Like other vehicles in this growing segment, the Versa combines excellent fuel economy, solid build quality and space-efficient interior design while remaining very affordable. The four-door Versa also distinguishes itself with many upmarket features and the choice of an inexpensive 1.6-liter engine or a relatively peppy 1.8-liter.

Current Nissan Versa
The
Nissan Versa economy car comes in two body styles: a four-door hatchback and a four-door sedan. Both body styles share the Versa's distinctive high bulbous roof line, which allows for a huge amount of interior space. The Nissan Versa is available in four trim levels: 1.6 Base, 1.6, 1.8 S and 1.8 SL. Standard features on the 1.8 S include air-conditioning, power mirrors and a six-disc CD changer. A five-speed or six-speed manual transmission is standard on most trims, with a four-speed automatic being optional.

Used Nissan Versa Models
The Nissan Versa was new for 2007.

The
2012 Nissan Versa is a tale of two cars. The Versa sedan has been completely redesigned for 2012. The Versa hatchback, however, soldiers on in its previous guise with only standard feature upgrades on which to hang its hat. In terms of exterior size, the new 2012 Versa sedan is largely unchanged. Fuel economy is up, and when equipped with the revised continuously variable automatic transmission, the Versa sedan achieves an impressive 33 mpg combined EPA estimate. The sedan's also between 3 and 6 mpg better than the hatchback depending on transmission.

Inevitably, though, your choice is more complicated than simply Versa versus Versa.
The 2012 Nissan Versa is available in sedan and hatchback body styles, but each represents different vehicle generations. The Versa sedan comes in three trim levels: S, SV and SL. Stepping up to the Versa SV sedan adds the Cruise Control package, full power accessories, keyless entry, upgraded upholstery and upgraded gauges.

The Versa SL sedan gets 15-inch alloy wheels, foglights, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat and the contents of the SV Convenience package. The Versa hatchback is available in S and SL trim levels. The Convenience package adds the Plus package, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth, steering wheel audio controls and an iPod interface. The 2012 Nissan Versa sedan is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that produces 109 hp and 107 pound-feet of torque.

In Edmunds performance testing, a manual-equipped Versa hatchback went from zero to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 26 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined with the manual and 24/32/27 with the automatic. The Versa hatchback SL comes standard with a CVT, which brings fuel economy up to 28/34/30.

Regardless of body style, the
2012 Nissan Versa comes standard with antilock brakes (front disc, rear drum), brake assist, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags.

While the interiors of the Versa sedan and hatchback differ in design, their basic virtues are similar.

Nissan GT-R fanatics will also be pleased to know that the iconic blue paint option has been reintroduced into the range named Aurora Flare Blue Pearl along with a revised black called Nebula Opal Black.

A new wheel option has also been made available in the form of Rays forged aluminium wheel which cut 3kg off the new GT-R’s unsprung weight at each corner for a total weight saving of 12kg – finished in either a Hyper Blue Black or Hyper Titanium colour

Perhaps you remember the original Nissan GT-R as easy to drive but uninvolving. Anyone who's still singing that tune, Mizuno thinks, hasn't driven this car.
Because, in this case, there's nothing bland about the GT-R.

You see, even in this business, where 500-hp cars come along every few weeks, the speed and control that accompany the 2012 Nissan GT-R driving experience are rare. Because control, friends, kicks ass. There's more than enough power here to balance the GT-R's chassis with the throttle, and understeer is noticeably reduced at lower speeds while stability remains high in triple-digit corners.

There's the same heavyweight steering — even at low speed.

By the Numbers

According to our test equipment, 2012 Nissan GT-R is both quicker and faster than the car it replaces. We've tested multiple GT-Rs in the three years since the car's introduction and the best acceleration we've recorded to date came from our long-term test car with the VDC switched off.

It hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds (3.3 seconds with a 1-foot rollout) and completed the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at 118.9 mph.

Handling numbers are similarly improved. Porsche's GT3 and GT3 RS hold the record at 75.3 mph.

Dunlop developed the GT-R's proprietary tire — the SP Sport Maxx GT600 (255/40ZRF20 front, 285/35ZRF20 rear) — with Nissan. Caster is increased from 5 to 6 degrees to improve high-speed stability. Even the stock wheels — now 10-spokers — are 20 percent stiffer and 6.6 pounds (per car, not per wheel) lighter. The Rays six-spoke wheels that come as part of the Black Edition scrub another 3.5 pounds (per car).

R-Mode Start, or Nissan's name for launch control, remains functionally the same as in 2011 GT-Rs. Bump the transmission and VDC setup switches into the R position (the suspension switch can remain in the "normal" position), then pin the brake, wood the throttle and release the brake.

There's another change, too: 2012 GT-Rs are limited to four launches in a row before the system requires a 1.5-mile cool-down drive.

The Critical Test

That the 2012 GT-R is insanely, stupidly fast is evident. City fuel economy jumps from 15 mpg to 16 mpg, while both highway and combined numbers see a 2-mpg increase (21 to 23 mpg and 17 to 19 mpg, respectively).
A Premium GT-R (there is no base model) costs $90,950 — about $5,900 more than a 2011 Premium model.
