Cadillac introduced the 2013 ATS, an all-new compact luxury sports sedan intended to challenge the world's best premium cars.

The rear-drive ATS brings Cadillac's blend of technologically driven performance, elegance and design to a new audience of spirited drivers. The Cadillac ATS is a new expression of Cadillac's Art & Science execution philosophy, built on a foundation of driving dynamics and mass efficiency.

Cadillac ATS will offer both manual and automatic transmission options, along with rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The Cadillac ATS will deliver peak highway fuel economy of more than 30 mpg.

"Low weight gives the Cadillac ATS a more nimble and controllable feel, while also optimizing the performance and efficiency of the powertrains," said David Masch, ATS chief engineer.

This helps offset the weight of the engine and transmission at the front of the vehicle, helping the Cadillac ATS deliver its near-perfect 50/50 weight balance, while also contributing to lower noise and vibration. Seventeen-inch wheels are standard and 18-inch wheels are available.

CUE and ATS technologies
The ATS is offered with Cadillac CUE, a comprehensive, in-vehicle experience that merges intuitive design with auto industry-first controls and commands for information and entertainment data. The Cadillac ATS is offered as a well-equipped standard model and in Luxury, Performance and Premium Collections.

The advanced technology safety features complement the Cadillac ATS's roster of other safety features, including eight standard air bags (10 with optional features), safety belt pretensioners and load limiters, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with traction control and four-wheel disc brakes with four-channel ABS.

2013 Cadillac ATS also features OnStar standard for one year.

A strong body structure is the backbone for the Cadillac ATS's driving experience. That comes from an optimal suspension geometry and advanced damping control - and the ATS packs both."

At the rear of the ATS is the first five-link independent suspension in a Cadillac. As with the front suspension, the five-link design creates virtual pivot points that the ATS's engineers used for geometry optimization.

"Using an aluminum cradle would have reduced the ATS's overall weight, but we found a few extra pounds at the rear suspension helped get the front/rear weight balance closer to the optimal 50-50 ratio," said David Masch, ATS chief engineer.

Seventeen-inch (17x8-inch) wheels used with 225/40-series tires are standard and 18x8-inch wheels and 255/35-series rubber are offered on the Cadillac ATS, with run-flat tires. Models with the FE3 suspension feature 18x9-inch rear wheels.

MRC, electric power steering and other advanced control

Supporting the ATS's new suspension designs are advanced damping, steering and braking systems, including Magnetic Ride Control.

All Cadillac ATS models come with a premium electric, variable-assist power steering gear from ZF Steering Systems.

2007 Cadillac CTS-V

The 2007 Cadillac CTS-V is a performance variant of the regular CTS entry-level luxury sedan. The 2007 Cadillac CTS-V comes solely as a four-door sedan with one trim level. Virtually all of the regular CTS's features come standard on the CTS-V.

Highlights include HID headlights, 18-inch wheels with 245/45WR18 Goodyear tires, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, aggressively bolstered sport seats, a premium Bose audio system with an in-dash six-CD changer, a navigation system and a power sunroof. Emphasizing the CTS-V's sporty personality, Cadillac has made a six-speed manual the only transmission choice.

Brembo brakes with four-piston calipers and ABS are standard on the
2007 Cadillac CTS-V, as are front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and a driver-adjustable stability control system (StabiliTrak). In NHTSA crash testing, the regular CTS scored four out of five stars for driver and front-passenger protection in frontal impacts, while side-impact tests resulted in a four-star rating for front passengers and a five-star rating for rear passengers.

The engine’s lightweight aluminum construction – including its cylinder heads and block – delivers an excellent power-to-weight ratio (1:9.6) and good chassis balance (53 percent front / 47 percent rear).

To help develop and manage its higher horsepower and torque output, and to reduce noise, vibration and harshness, the CTS-V features several modifications, including:
High-strength pistons help improve engine durability, particularly under high-performance operating conditions
Revised valves and stiffer valve springs better accommodate valve operation with the high-lift cam
Enhanced induction system enables enhanced engine breathing, helping to increase horsepower output
High-flow fuel injectors deliver fuel at the faster rate needed due to increased intake airflow
Dual exhaust constructed of 2.5-inch (159-mm) diameter stainless steel pipe to help minimize back pressure, increase horsepower and ensure proper exhaust tone.

CTS-V chassis refinements include revised front engine cradle to handle the high horsepower and torque from the V-8 engine. The front stabilizer bar was increased from a 23-mm hollow bar to 26.6-mm hollow bar.

Other than changing option packages into trim levels, there are no changes for the 2010 Cadillac STS.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2010 Cadillac STS is a large luxury sedan available in five trim levels � three V6s and two V8s. The V6 comes in Luxury Sport, Luxury and Premium trims, while the V8 comes in Luxury and Performance trims.

The V6 Luxury Sport comes with 17-inch wheels, leather seating, aluminum interior trim, eight-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry and ignition, satellite radio, an eight-speaker Bose sound system and OnStar. The V6 Luxury (yes, it's a step up from Luxury Sport) adds wood trim, front seat power lumbar supports, a CD changer, Bluetooth, driver memory settings, heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and rain-sensing wipers. The V6 Premium adds 18-inch wheels, upgraded braking, steering and cooling systems, limited-slip differential, automatic level control, rear spoiler, auto-dimming rearview mirror, headlight washers, auto-dimming xenon headlights, an upgraded surround-sound audio system and a navigation system.

Powertrains and Performance
In performance testing, the STS V8 reached 60 mph in 6.3 seconds.

Safety
Antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), stability control and a full complement of airbags are standard on every Cadillac STS. In side-impact tests, the STS scored four stars for front passengers and five stars for rear passengers. Depending on trim level, the STS's cabin is fitted with aluminum accents and perhaps real wood trim as well.

Driving Impressions
Although large in size, the 2010 Cadillac STS sedan feels three-fourths its size when driven with enthusiasm -- yet it rides like a supple luxury car when you're gobbling up miles on the highway. Cadillac offers an optional Magnetic Ride Control suspension that includes Touring and Sport modes.

2010 Cadillac SRX,Review

The 2010 Cadillac SRX is an all-new luxury crossover SUV. For the relatively compact 2010 Cadillac SRX, model, all of that's been brushed away in favor of a new five-passenger platform that utilizes front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For more power, Cadillac is also offering a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 on the higher trim levels. The available Saab-sourced turbo V6 makes the SRX more competitive, but opting for it sends the SRX's price skyrocketing.

The
2010 Cadillac SRX is a luxury crossover SUV available in four trim levels: base, Luxury Collection, Performance Collection and Premium Collection.

The top-of-the-line Premium Collection tacks on keyless ignition/entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat audio controls, ventilated front seats and heated rear outboard seats. All-wheel-drive Performance and Premium Collection models also receive a sport-tuned suspension with continuously variable damping.

The base
2010 Cadillac SRX has no available options. The surround-sound stereo and the navigation system are optional on the Luxury Collection, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system can be specified on any SRX equipped with the navigation system.

The Cadillac
2010 Cadillac SRX comes standard with a 3.0-liter V6 rated at 265 horsepower and 223 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard with this engine, with all-wheel drive optional on all but the base model. All-wheel-drive models also have a specialized rear differential that applies power to the outside wheels for improved cornering traction.

EPA fuel economy estimates for the base V6 are 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined for front-drive models. GM says the turbocharged SRX will achieve 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway.

For 2010, the Cadillac Escalade EXT loses a handful of formally standard features, such as the rain-sensing wipers and the rear-mounted indicator lights for the park assist feature. As expected of an Escalade, the EXT provides all the benefits of Cadillac's luxury-class full-size SUV, including bold, unabashedly American styling, a roomy and handsome cabin, plenty of luxury features and a powerful V8 engine. The Cadillac differs mainly in its styling, interior accommodations, features and bigger engine.

2010 Cadillac Escalade EXT is essentially a premium full-size crew cab pickup truck that's available in three trim levels: base, Luxury and Premium.

Standard features on the base version include 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, a roof rack, a road-sensing adaptive suspension, a fold-down midgate, power-adjustable heated front seats, driver memory settings, power-adjustable pedals, rear park assist (with rearview camera), leather upholstery, wood-grain trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote engine start, OnStar and Bluetooth. Stepping up to the Luxury trim adds auto-dimming high-beams, 22-inch chrome-clad wheels, an automatically adjusting (Magnetic Ride Control) suspension, a sunroof and a heated steering wheel. The top-of-the-line Premium adds power-retracting side steps and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Safety
The
2010 Cadillac Escalade EXT comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control and full-length side curtain airbags with rollover protection. Rear parking assist, adjustable pedals and OnStar are also standard.

Interior Design and Special Features
Folding away the rear seats and removing the midgate extends the pickup bed into the interior, providing 101 cubic feet of cargo volume.

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade receives a number of notable upgrades. Handsome double-stitched leather upholstery and faux wood trim are complemented by an impressive list of upscale standard features.

For 2010, the full-size
2010 Cadillac Escalade SUV is offered in four different trim levels. Even entry-level models are very well-equipped, with 18-inch alloy wheels, an adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, xenon headlamps, an auto-dimming driver-side mirror, a power liftgate, rear parking sensors and fixed running boards. Inside you'll find heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a power-release feature for second-row seats and a blind-spot warning system. The Premium trim level adds power-retractable running boards and a rear-seat DVD video entertainment system with a ceiling-mounted screen. The short list of available options includes different styles of 22-inch alloy wheels, a 60/40 split-folding second-row bench seat and the rear-seat DVD video system with the overhead screen (Luxury model only).

EPA estimates stand at 14 mpg city/20 highway for the 2WD Escalade, slightly higher than the 2009 Escalade. Properly equipped, two-wheel-drive versions can tow a healthy 8,300 pounds.

Standard safety features on the
2010 Cadillac Escalade include electronic stability control, antilock disc brakes, traction control, front side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags that cover all three rows and the OnStar telematics system. In government crash tests, last year's Escalade earned a top five-star rating for crash protection in frontal and side-impact protection.

Adding the available second-row bench raises total seating capacity to eight.

If you choose to lose the third-row seat, however, you'll end up with a cavernous 60.3 cubic feet of cargo room behind the second-row seats. Fold those second-row seats down and the cargo capacity grows to an impressive 108.9 cubic feet.

The Cadillac CTS-V returns largely unchanged for 2010. While the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V bears little physical resemblance to Detroit's original muscle cars, the parallels are hard to ignore. It also helps the CTS-V top every other high-performance production sedan we've ever tested through the quarter-mile. The 2010 Cadillac CTS-V does have a few faults, albeit minor ones.

The 2010 Cadillac CTS-V high-performance sport sedan returns in a single well-equipped trim level. Inside, the standard features list continues with leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated front seats with driver-seat memory, a suede-trimmed power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Powertrains and Performance
The EPA puts the CTS-V's estimated fuel economy at 14 mpg city/19 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined with the manual transmission, and 12/18/14 mpg with the automatic. Safety The 2010 Cadillac CTS-V comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control and traction control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags.

GM's OnStar emergency communications system is also standard.
The CTS also received a five-star government rating for both front- and rear-seat passenger protection in side-impact crashes. First, the bad news: The 2010 CTS-V's interior isn't much different from that of the regular CTS model. The synthetic suede seat inserts and steering wheel and shift knob trim are an especially nice touch. As noted earlier, the CTS-V's interior also sports as much head- and legroom as some midsize super-sedan competitors.

The split-folding rear seat found on other CTS models isn't available here, but a trunk pass-through opening is standard.
Driving Impressions The 2010 Cadillac CTS-V standard Magnetic Ride Control suspension offers a good balance between ride quality and handling via driver-selectable Tour or Sport modes.

The 2010 Cadillac CTS gets a new base engine that produces more horsepower and returns slightly better fuel economy. The CTS can also be equipped with an Eco Lux Collection, which increases fuel economy to 30 mpg highway.

What is an American luxury car? Some drivers may also find the CTS's awkward driving position and compromised rear visibility to be deal breakers. Hyundai's Genesis, meanwhile, offers similar levels of luxury at a cheaper price.

For Cadillac, the CTS is one giant leap in the right direction.

The CTS 3.0 Performance has the Luxury's equipment plus 18-inch wheels, performance brakes, upgraded FE2 sport-tuned suspension, a limited-slip rear differential and adaptive HID headlamps. The camera and navigation system are optional on all but the base CTS. The 19-inch Summer Tire Performance package available on 3.6 models adds 19-inch wheels, summer tires, an upgraded FE3 performance suspension and enhanced power steering.

The 2010 Cadillac CTS is available with two V6 engines. It returns fuel economy of 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined.

In performance testing, this engine with the automatic propelled a rear-wheel-drive CTS sedan from zero to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds.

Safety
The CTS's standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and GM's OnStar emergency communications system.

In government crash testing, the 2010 Cadillac CTS sedan was awarded a perfect five stars for side protection. In brake testing, the CTS 3.6 Premium with FE2 suspension and all-season tires came to a stop from 60 in a solid 117 feet.
