2011 Chevrolet Aveo,Reviews,New

Never thought I would say this, but....the new Chevrolet Aveo is a seriously good looking machine.

The new
Chevrolet Aveo has twin headlights, a split front grill, and the rear door handles are concealed within its C pillars.Petrol engines include the 1.2-litre 85bhp unit, and the 1.4- litre 99bhp trim. What a nice little car. Excellent work Chevrolet.

To help attract said customer, the Aveo comes equipped with youth-oriented features such as an MP3-enabled audio system, faux carbon-fiber trim and bright color choices.

Current Chevrolet Aveo
The
Chevy Aveo is available as a subcompact sedan or four-door hatchback called the Aveo5. The Aveo's small interior provides a commanding view for all passengers, and a fully reclining front passenger seat and a 60/40-split folding rear seat expand the Aveo's interior cargo capacity, enabling long items, such as skis, to be carried between the trunk and passenger compartment.

The sedan's trunk offers 12.4 cubic feet of storage space. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, and there's also an optional four-speed automatic.
In
Chevrolet Aveo reviews, our editors have found it to be a viable option for this vehicle class. Usually, we encourage subcompact car buyers to get a manual transmission to maximize acceleration, but in the Aveo's case, the automatic is the better bet.
Used Chevrolet Aveo Models
Manual transmission gear ratios were altered for 2010 for improved fuel economy.

2011 Cadillac CTS-V,Reviews

For 2011, the Cadillac CTS-V has a new fender vent design, and a rear-vision camera is now standard. The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V does have a few minor negatives. The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V is a high-performance sport sedan that's offered in a single well-equipped trim level.

Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, high-performance tires, Brembo brakes, adaptive xenon headlights, an adaptive suspension with adjustable dampers, keyless ignition/entry (including remote start on automatic-transmission models) and rear park assist.

Inside the cabin, the standard features list continues with leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated front seats with driver-seat memory, a suede-trimmed power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Powertrains and Performance
The EPA puts the CTS-V's estimated fuel economy at 14 mpg city/19 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined with the manual transmission, and 12/18/14 mpg with the automatic.

Safety
The
2011 Cadillac CTS-V comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control and traction control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. GM's OnStar emergency communications system is also standard. The CTS also received a five-star government rating for both front- and rear-seat passenger protection in side-impact crashes.

First, the bad news: The
2011 CTS-V's interior isn't much different from that of the regular CTS model. The faux suede seat inserts and steering wheel/shift knob trim are an especially nice touch.
The split-folding rear seat found on other CTS models isn't available here, but a trunk pass-through opening is standard.

Driving Impressions
The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V's standard Magnetic Ride Control suspension offers a good balance between ride quality and handling via driver-selectable Tour or Sport modes.

2011 Cadillac CTS,Reviews

The 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe is an all-new model.

Powertrains and Performance
The
2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 304 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available as an option. In testing, a rear-wheel-drive CTS Coupe with an automatic transmission and Summer Tire Performance package accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, which is slightly slower than most competing luxury coupes. Standard safety equipment for the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe includes antilock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, front-seat side airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and GM's OnStar emergency communications system. As with the sedan model, the interior of the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe features a pleasing angular theme to match the exterior edginess.

Ford Crown Victoria,Reviews

Large V8-powered sedans made a comeback in the 21st century, but the Ford Crown Victoria was one of the very few full-size, rear-drive sedans that never left. The Crown Vic's model run continued uninterrupted until 2007, the last year it was available for consumer purchase.

For the car's most recent redesign in 2003, Ford fitted it with an all-new frame, a redesigned front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, all of which improved the big Vic's crash performance and handling dynamics.

Most Recent Ford Crown Victoria
Last produced for civilian use for the 2007 model year, the Ford Crown Victoria was a full-size, six-passenger sedan available in base and LX trim levels. The LX model had a few extra upscale features and also allowed access to a couple optional packages such as the premium handling and performance package (previously known as the LX Sport trim level). In reviews, we found that the Ford Crown Victoria delivered a forgiving ride quality.

Past Ford Crown Victoria Models
The
Ford Crown Victoria was dramatically restyled for 1998 by adopting the formal roof line previously used exclusively on its Mercury Grand Marquis twin.

2011 Buick LaCrosse,Reviews

Also, the four-cylinder model gets a new electric-assist power steering system. The 2011 Buick LaCrosse has pared down its engine choices this year, as the 255-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 has been discontinued while the 182-hp 2.4-liter inline-4 and the 280-hp 3.6-liter V6 go forward. Overall, we're impressed by the 2011 Buick LaCrosse.

The 2011 Buick LaCrosse is offered in three trim levels: CX, CXL and CXS.
The base CX includes 17-inch steel wheels, a power driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, full power accessories, OnStar and a seven-speaker audio system with a CD/MP3 player, an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. Options for the CX include 17-inch alloy wheels and a Comfort and Convenience package that includes dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming mirror, Bluetooth, power lumbar adjustment for the driver seat, a power front passenger seat and remote engine start. Individual option highlights include a sunroof, chrome wheels, a navigation system (with rearview camera and digital music storage), a rear seat entertainment system (with dual display screens) and the Harman Kardon audio system. The CXS trim level includes 19-inch alloy wheels and everything above except the navigation system, power sunroof, Driver Confidence package and rear entertainment system, which all remain optional. All LaCrosse models feature a six-speed automatic transmission.

Safety
The 2011 Buick LaCrosse features standard front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, OnStar communications, stability and traction control, and antilock disc brakes with brake assist. Rear-seat side airbags are also available as an option. The 2011 Buick LaCrosse boasts an elegant and contemporary interior.

Driving Impressions
From the driver seat, the 2011 Buick LaCrosse exhibits an enjoyable blend of luxury and engagement. Rear visibility, however, is compromised by the car's high rear deck and thick roof pillars.

2011 Buick Enclave,Reviews

For 2011, the 2011 Buick Enclave sees only very minor changes. Among the Buick Enclave's many strengths are its powerful V6, comfortable and quiet ride, massive cargo capacity and excellent crash-test scores.

The 2011 Buick Enclave is a large crossover SUV that comes in CX, CXL1 and CXL2 trim levels. All have a standard seven-passenger seating configuration via second-row captain's chairs and a third-row bench seat. Other standard features include partial power front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping leather/wood steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, OnStar and a six-speaker CD/MP3 audio system with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio.

The Enclave CXL1 adds leather upholstery, heated power front seats (eight-way driver, four-way passenger), driver-seat memory functions, rear parking sensors and a back-up camera with a small rearview-mirror display. Other Enclave options include a dual-pane "SkyScape" sunroof (not available on CX), a second-row storage console with a 12-volt power outlet (also not available on CX) and towing preparation.

The 2011 Buick Enclave offers a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Safety Stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags are standard on every 2011 Buick Enclave. In brake testing, the Enclave came to a stop from 60 mph in 139 feet. The Enclave's cabin has an upscale vibe thanks to its stylish dash and wood-grain inlays.

On the bright side, the Enclave is one of the roomiest crossover SUVs on the market.
Driving Impressions The 2011 Buick Enclave also shines on road trips thanks to its quiet ride and compliant suspension.

2010 BMW Z4, Reviews

The sDrive35i is also eligible for BMW's seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission (it also appears on the high-performance M3), while the sDrive 30i makes do with a conventional six-speed automatic. Quite possibly the 2010 BMW Z4.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2010 BMW Z4 is a two-seat roadster with a retractable hardtop, available in either base sDrive30i or more powerful sDrive35i trim. The base sDrive30i model includes 17-inch wheels, xenon headlamps, heated outside mirrors and rear window, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, premium leatherette vinyl upholstery, six-way manually adjustable seats and a CD audio system with HD radio, satellite radio preparation and an auxiliary audio jack. The sDrive30i also comes standard with driver-adjustable steering, throttle and -- if applicable -- automatic transmission programming.

There are several notable option packages. The Premium package includes leather and automatic climate control for the 30i model, power seats with driver-side memory settings, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient lighting, Bluetooth and BMW Assist. Finally, the Sport package includes 18-inch wheels with performance tires (19s are available at extra cost), adaptive suspension dampers, the aforementioned sport seats and a higher top speed thanks to a recalibrated electronic limiter.

Powertrains and Performance
The rear-wheel-drive 2010 BMW Z4 offers two engines -- one for each trim level. The sDrive35i receives BMW's twin-turbocharged inline-6 that's rated at 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.

Both cars come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed conventional automatic is optional on the sDrive30i, while the optional transmission for the sDrive35i is a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual.
EPA fuel economy estimates range from 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined for the sDrive30i (19/29/22 with the automatic) to 18/25/20 for the sDrive35i (17/24/20 with the automated manual).

Side impact airbags, antilock brakes with brake assist, and stability control are all standard on the 2010 BMW Z4.

The 2010 BMW's Z4's cabin is sleek and upscale.
Driving Impressions Even the base 2010 BMW Z4 sDrive30i is an entertaining drive thanks to its willing and exceptionally smooth 255-hp inline-6.

2010 BMW X5,Reviews

The 2010 BMW X5 receives the latest version of BMW's iDrive controller. A luxurious cabin with top-notch materials and admirable build quality furthers the X5's desirability, as do exceptionally comfortable front seats.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2010 BMW X5 is a midsize luxury SUV available in xDrive30i, xDrive35d and xDrive48i trim levels. Standard equipment on the xDrive30i includes 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic adaptive xenon headlights, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, 10-way power front seats with driver memory settings, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, vinyl "leatherette" upholstery, wood interior trim, the iDrive electronics interface and a 12-speaker sound system with a CD player, HD Radio and an auxiliary audio jack.

The Sport Activity package adds 19-inch wheels, dark exterior trim, sport seats and a sport steering wheel. The Rear Climate package adds rear privacy glass, manual rear side sunshades and four-zone auto climate control. 2010 BMW X5. EPA fuel economy estimates are 14/19/16 mpg.

Safety
Standard safety equipment for the
2010 BMW X5 includes antilock brakes, stability control, brake drying and standby features, a rollover sensor, front side airbags and side curtain airbags for the first and second rows. In government crash tests, the X5 scored a perfect five stars for frontal-impact driver protection and four stars for frontal-impact passenger protection.

Driving Impressions
The optional active steering system eases parking maneuvers, but the downside is somewhat artificial steering feel.

2010 BMW X3,Reviews

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The Sport Activity package includes 18-inch wheels, running boards, a sport steering wheel and rear privacy glass. Opting for the Sport package nets a stiffer sport suspension, sport front seats and steering wheel and body styling accents.
Other options include 19-inch alloy wheels with higher-performance tires, speed sensitive steering, a premium audio system, 16-way power front seats, a navigation system, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, adaptive xenon headlights and front and rear parking sensors.

Power is routed through either a class-exclusive six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. EPA estimated fuel ratings for the automatic transmission are 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 20 mpg in combined driving.

Safety
Standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, automatic brake drying, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, active front-seat head restraints, stability control and hill descent control. Rear-seat side airbags are available as an option.

The standard front seats are comfortable and firm, with sufficient support for sporty driving; there are also optional sport seats and sublimely comfortable 16-way power seats.

Driving Impressions
Aside from the ride quality, this BMW's driving dynamics are beyond reproach.

2010 BMW M5,Reviews

A 4.4-liter V8 with an M-developed TwinPower Turbo Package features the M division’s latest technology combined with BMW’s turbocharging know-how. Power is rated at 560 horsepower available from 6,000 to 7,000 rpm, which should keep fans of the M-division’s high-revving engines satisfied.

Despite the power boost,the
2010 BMW M5 says that fuel consumption is down 30 percent thanks to a full complement of EfficientDynamics upgrades, like automatic start/stop and brake energy regeneration.
One thing BMW has not mentioned is availability of a manual transmission.

Specially tuned steering works with the car’s Dynamic Damper Control and stability control with its own M Dynamic tuned mode and an M-specific active electronic locking rear differential to make the best of handling via electronic aids.

All 2010 BMW M5s receive the latest hard-drive-based version of iDrive with a dramatically improved interface and menu structure.
The standard seven-speed sequential manual gearbox (SMG) is a single-clutch automated manual -- a dwindling breed in this era of slick multiclutch gearboxes. The 2010 BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the midsize 5 Series luxury sedan.

Options include soft-close automatic doors, keyless ignition/entry, fold-down rear seats, upgraded power front seats, a power rear sunshade and manual rear side shades, extended leather trim, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, an upgraded sound system, satellite radio and an iPod interface.

Powertrains and Performance
A conventional six-speed manual transmission is a no-cost option.

Safety
Standard safety equipment on the
2010 BMW M5 includes stability control, full-length side curtain airbags and front-seat side airbags. Rear-seat side airbags are optional.

Driving Impressions
If your heart's set on a
2010 BMW M5 super-sedan, we'd recommend taking a close look at the M5's little brother, the more-enjoyable-to-drive M3 sedan.

2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6,Reviews

The 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is an all-new hybrid model.

Performance from the Hybrid is more impressive, but it still falls short of the standard gasoline-powered V8 model. Like vehicles such as the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid and the new Mercedes-Benz ML450 Hybrid, the
2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is a full hybrid, meaning it can accelerate on battery power alone. Like the other X6 models, the ActiveHybrid is also handicapped by its reduced cargo capacity and cramped rear quarters -- a byproduct of the sweeping rear roof line. The 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is a midsize luxury crossover SUV that is offered in a single, well-appointed trim level.

Buyers may also select the optional Active Ventilation Seat package, which adds ventilated front seats and an active driver seat that shifts the cushion to reduce long-distance fatigue. Stand-alone options include 19-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, automatic high beams, rear side window shades, sport seats, aluminum or dark bamboo interior trim, satellite radio, a rear-seat entertainment system, smart phone integration and an upgraded sound system.

Powertrains and Performance
Powering the
2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is the combination of a traditional gasoline engine and two electric motors that are integrated into the transmission. Fuel economy, however, is unimpressive by hybrid standards. EPA estimates stand at 17 mpg city/19 mpg highway and 18 mpg in combined driving. By comparison, the gas-powered six- and eight-cylinder models achieve 15/21/17 mpg and 13/18/15 mpg, respectively.
Standard safety features on the 2010 ActiveHybrid X6 include antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, trailer stability control, hill descent control, adaptive headlights, front-seat side airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.

Inside, the
2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is almost identical to other X6 models. The rear seats only accommodate two passengers, since the large rear center console is not removable. BMW managed to tuck the hybrid battery pack under the cargo floor.

2010 BMW 7-Series,Reviews

Three new models join the BMW 7 Series lineup for 2010: the new V12-powered 760Li and the all-wheel-drive 750i xDrive and 750Li xDrive. Finally, the sport package is now called the M Sport package, active four-wheel steering is now a stand-alone option, while active front seats and rear massaging seats are included in the Luxury Seating package.

The Driving Dynamics Control system further enhances this feeling by offering four driving settings -- from the luxurious Comfort mode to the more exciting Sport Plus mode.
Despite its impressive credentials, the 2010 BMW 7 Series is not alone at the top of the luxury sedan food chain.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2010 BMW 7 Series is a large luxury sedan available in 750i and extended-wheelbase 750Li models. On the inside, you'll find four-zone automatic climate control, 14-way-adjustable front seats, front seat memory functions, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated front seats, wood trim and leather upholstery. The M Sport package adds active roll stabilization (for rear-drive models only), performance tires on either 19- or 20-inch wheels, a sporty "M" steering wheel, more aerodynamic body elements and black exterior trim. The Cold Weather package includes a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, plus a ski bag for the trunk pass-through.

The Luxury Seating package includes all of the Cold Weather items plus rear sunshades, ventilated front seats and active adjustable driver seat bolsters. The Camera package adds rear and sideview parking cameras. Powering all 2010 BMW 750 models is a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 that produces 400 hp and 450 pound-feet of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels in standard models, while xDrive variants are all-wheel drive.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a new eight-speed automatic. All BMW 7 Series feature the Driving Dynamics Control system, which has four driver-selectable settings for shift response, throttle response, shock absorber firmness, power-steering assist and stability control.
All-wheel drive drops mileage slightly to 14/20/16 mpg, while the V12-powered 760Li is rated at 13/19/15 mpg.

Standard safety features include antilock brakes (with brake assist, brake fade compensation, brake drying and a brake stand-by feature), stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, front knee airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. As BMW's flagship, the
2010 BMW 7-Series represents the company's pinnacle of luxury, comfort and cutting-edge technology.

1969 Mustang,Reviews

Ford put a lot of effort into the 1969 Mustang. The Mustang was significantly restyled, but it was still pure Mustang. All Mustangs were lowered 0.5 inch on the suspension and the windshield rake was increased by 2.2 degrees. The restyle looked particularly effective on the Mustang fastback model, now called the SportsRoof. Convertibles and hardtops used a simulated rear quarter panel vent. The Deluxe Interior was standard equipment on the Grande, Mach 1 and Boss 429 models.

There were plenty of 1969 Mustang models to choose from in 1969. For those desiring high mpg, there was the rare Mustang E- a specially equipped Mustang Sportsroof designed for economy. Mustang E letttering on the rear quarters identified the Mustang as such.

The GT Equipment Group option was still available on all three body Mustang body styles as long as the engine was 351 c.i. or larger. It was the Mach 1 Mustang that Ford placed emphasis on for those desiring a high performance. Besides the models mentioned, there were also the Boss 302 and Boss 429 Mustangs. These limited production Mustangs were built so that Ford could qualify the 1969 Mustang for racing.

In addition to model proliferation, there was also engine proliferation. Including the Boss 1969 Mustang, there were ten Mustang engines to choose from! The two-barrel carburetor version was rated at 250 hp while the four-barrel was rated 290 hp. The 428 c.i. Cobra Jet V-8 was the top engine option. It shook, as the engine idled.

2006 honda civic,Reviews

2006 honda civic has completely redesigned the Civic for 2006. The company has also improved the gas-electric IMA system for the Civic Hybrid and restored the Civic Si trim's potency with a 197-horsepower engine and a sportier coupe body style.

Introduction
All DX, LX and EX models are powered by a SOHC 1.8-liter, inline four-cylinder engine with Honda's i-VTEC system. The GX uses a natural gas-fueled version that makes 113 hp and 109 lb-ft. The previous Civic Si hatchback was a performance disappointment. For those interested more in fuel economy rather than 0-60-mph times, there's the Civic Hybrid sedan. Whichever model you choose, it's pretty hard to go wrong with the
2006 Honda Civic.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2006 honda civic is available as a sedan or a two-door coupe. There are also three specialty models: the Civic Hybrid sedan, Civic GX sedan and the Civic Si coupe. The front wheels of all DX, LX and EX models are powered by a 1.8-liter, inline four-cylinder engine. The 1.3-liter gas-electric powertrain found in the Civic Hybrid makes 110 hp and boasts the best fuel-economy figures of the Civic range -- 50 mpg for both city and highway with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Every
2006 honda civic comes equipped with antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front-seat head restraints. DX, LX, GX and Hybrid models have front disc/rear drum brakes, while the EX and Si have four-wheel discs.

The Civic's large dash features an unusual layout. Honda calls it a two-tier design.

Mazda 3 2011,Reviews

The 2011 Mazda 3 sees some shuffling of its equipment packages. The Grand Touring version loses its formerly standard adaptive xenon headlights but gains the Bose audio system and a sunroof. Also, all trims now have standard stability control.

The Mazda 3 is also notable for the number of upmarket features that are available, including bi-xenon headlights, keyless ignition/entry and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2011 Mazda 3 is available in four-door compact sedan and hatchback body styles.
The 3i model (sedan only) is offered in SV, Sport and Touring trim levels. Standard equipment on the SV includes 16-inch steel wheels, a 60/40-split-folding seat, height-adjustable driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, full power accessories and a four-speaker stereo with a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack and steering-wheel controls. The 3s Grand Touring adds a sunroof, heated outside mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker Bose audio system (with an in-dash, six-disc CD changer), heated front seats, leather upholstery and an eight-way power driver seat.

Powertrains and Performance
Estimated fuel economy is 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined with the automatic (20/28/23 with the manual). Both fuel economy and acceleration are on par with similarly powerful small cars.

Safety
Standard safety equipment on the
2011 Mazda 3 includes stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), active front head restraints, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. In government crash tests, the Mazda 3 earned five stars (the highest rating) in frontal impact protection for both driver and passenger.

Interior Design and Special Features
The
2011 Mazda 3 is a class leader in terms of interior design, quality and feature content. Most Mazda 3 hatchbacks and sedans sold won't be the upper Touring and Grand Touring models, but they'll still greet their owners with high-quality materials, comfortable front seats, ample space and easy-to-reach controls.

Dodge Viper,Reviews

The Dodge Viper was conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic muscular American sports car. Minor concessions to "luxury" appeared in the second-generation Viper roadster, such as real windows that replaced the clear vinyl side curtains, but Viper fans had nothing to fear, as Dodge's top-dog sports car remained obnoxiously loud and fast.

The second-generation Dodge Viper saw the SRT-10 roadster become a true convertible with a folding top. The Viper SRT-10 coupe returned a few years later featuring the previous coupe's "double bubble" roof and dramatic rear styling.

Current Dodge Viper

The
Dodge Viper is offered as a two-seat coupe or roadster. Performance numbers are otherworldly, as the Viper can reach 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Though modern cars are increasingly equipped with the latest safety features, the Viper remains true to its visceral roots. Fresh off the showroom floor, the Dodge Viper is one of the fastest production cars in the world.

Used Dodge Viper Models
The current second-generation
Dodge Viper has been available since 2003. The original Dodge Viper debuted for the 1992 model year. In 1999 the Viper received bigger wheels, optional Connolly leather inside, power mirrors and a remote release for the coupe's glass hatch. A track-biased Viper ACR trim level also became available that year.

BMW 325,Reviews

From a 21st-century perspective, BMW 325 Series is about as slam-dunk-wonderful a car as there is available. In the mid 1970s, BMW faced the task of replacing its aging 2002 coupe. BMW picked a ripe moment in history to introduce the first 3 Series generation, internally designated E21. In 1974, BMW sold 184,330 cars, but bolstered by the European introduction of the 3 Series in 1975, worldwide sales reached 221,298.

The 3 Series hit North America as a 1977 model, and that pushed BMW production over 290,000 that year and beyond 320,000 in 1978.

The only E21 model available Stateside was the 320i. Basic elements like the MacPherson strut front and trailing arm rear suspension and front disc/rear drum power braking system differed in detail and specification, but were similar in overall design. The standard transmission remained a Getrag four-speed manual, while a ZF three-speed automatic was optional.

In 1980, the engine shrank to 1.8 liters (though the name remained 320i) and BMW 325 added a three-way catalytic converter to the emissions control system. Designated E30, the second-generation 3 Series was initially available only in two-door form.

While hardly sporting in character, its 121 hp was the most BMW 325 had offered to U.S. buyers since the long-ago 2002tii, and the car was decently quick, making it to 60 mph in 8.9 seconds and completing the quarter-mile in 16.6 seconds at 81.5 mph for Road & Track. The E30 really came of age in the 1987 model year with the appearance of the 325i and 325is models, which abandoned the "eta" reduced-rev/high-fuel-mileage engine concept, as well as the introduction of the 325iC convertible, the first pure convertible offered in the 3 Series. Car and Driver's 325is blasted to 60 mph in just 7.4 seconds and completed the quarter-mile in 15.6 seconds at 88 mph. So gratifying and ingratiating was the new 325i engine that most reviewers felt the car was worth its soaring price tag. Dropped into a modified 3 Series two-door body shell (the flared fenders, more steeply raked rear window and higher trunk lid meant only the hood was left untouched compared with more plebian 3 Series coupes), the Bosch fuel-injected "M Power" four was rated at 192 hp at a wailing 6,750 rpm when it finally got to North America.

Stirring the five-speed manual transmission, Car and Driver blasted that 2,857-pound M3 to 60 mph in just 6.9 seconds, blitzed the quarter-mile in just 15.2 seconds with a 92-mph trap speed and screamed to a 141-mph top speed. With an as-tested price of $34,810, the M3 was at that time (and remains for many purists) the ultimate BMW 3 Series.

Thanks to the E30, the two-door heritage of the 2002 and 320i had been transcended, and the 3 Series was now a full line of compact coupes, sedans and convertibles with serious sporting pretensions. At 106.3 inches, its wheelbase stretched 5.1 inches longer than the E30's, and the car was slightly more than 4 inches longer overall. While the E36's front suspension retained its traditional MacPherson strut design, engineers made the rear suspension more sophisticated than ever before. By the 1993 model year, the M50 engine would gain BMW's VANOS variable valve timing system, and consequently a sweeter, fatter torque curve.

The four-cylinder engine in the 318i also used a four-valve cylinder head to make 138 hp. But U.S. BMW 325 buyers were increasingly opting for six-cylinder engines in their cars, and throughout the E36's production cycle, fewer and fewer fours were sold.
Unlike previous 3 Series two-doors, the E36 version wasn't an upright sedan with two fewer doors, but an altogether rakish coupe. Never fully accepted by many BMW enthusiasts, the 318ti would attract relatively few U.S. buyers before leaving production after the 1999 model year.

In 1998, a 168-hp 2.5-liter version of the inline-6 was offered in the coupe and convertible to create, counter-intuitively, the 323i convertible and 323is coupe. The M3 Evolution appeared as a 1996 model, and nominal engine displacement grew from 3.0 liters to 3.2.

Many wondered how BMW 325 could possibly improve upon this iconic car.

1999-2005
The headlights now featured "cut outs" below the lenses, which emphasized the traditional BMW 325 quad headlight design.
The E46 328i's 2.8-liter mill made 193 hp at 5,500 rpm and 206 lb-ft of torque at just 3,500 rpm, while the 2.5-liter produced 170 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque in the still confusingly named 323i.

Acura NSX,Reviews

The Acura NSX was a car of firsts. It was the first production car to feature aluminum construction for its body structure, body panels, suspension and engine. Its engine was the first to feature variable valve timing and a variable-volume intake manifold.

Though Acura NSX performed useful updates, a first-year NSX isn't very different from a 2005 model. As a candidate for a used sports car, though, the Acura NSX could be a savvy choice.
The Acura NSX is a two-seat sports car.

Titanium connecting rods allowed a high redline. Acura NSX used aluminum to build much of the car to keep curb weight at a minimum. Standard equipment highlights included antilock brakes, automatic climate control and leather upholstery. In 1995, a targa-roof model (the NSX-T) became available.
The 1997 manual-equipped models featured a new six-speed transmission and a larger 3.2-liter engine producing 290 hp. Acura performed its last NSX update in 2002.

In 2003, our editors compared the Acura NSX to three American sports cars. On the street, the Acura NSX was easy to drive thanks to its excellent forward visibility, easily depressed clutch and smooth shifter

2013 Lexus GS 350,Reviews

Toyota has released a teaser photo of the redesigned 2013 Lexus GS 350 sedan ahead of the car's official unveiling August 18 at Pebble Beach.

The four-passenger rear-drive LF-Gh sedan was built on the same 112.2-inch wheelbase as the
2011 Lexus GS, measuring just 2.5 inches longer, at 192.5 inches overall.

The new, fourth-generation
2013 Lexus GS will be officially revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Aug. 18, but we got to spend some time behind the wheel of two pre-production and heavily camouflaged prototypes on a handling course as well on the Azusa Canyon Road in California.

From a driving dynamics standpoint, the new
2013 Lexus GS 350 marks a substantial improvement over the current car. Overall, the new car is now a sure-footed and extremely competent performer that does not mind being driven hard, unlike the previous car. One of the two prototypes I got to drive was equipped with the available Dynamic Handling System as well as the Dynamic Rear Steering.

We can’t tell you much about the styling because the car was entirely covered up, but we were told that it would feature many elements seen on the Lexus LF-Gh concept car revealed at this year’s New York Auto Show, including what
2013 Lexus GS 350 designers call an “aggressive and bold spindle-shaped front grille” accented by LED lighting both front and rear.

2008 honda accord,Reviews

The 2008 honda accord has been fully redesigned for 2008. My, how the little Honda Accord has grown. Still available in sedan and coupe body styles, the all-new 2008 Honda Accord is most obviously highlighted by its slick new styling. Available on EX sedans and all coupes, the midlevel inline-four-cylinder produces a best-in-class 190 horsepower -- by comparison, the 1998 all-new Accord featured an optional V6 that produced 200 hp.

All that power comes at no fuel economy expense, as it matches the fuel economy estimates of the previous model's four-cylinder.
As a matter of fact, all
2008 honda accord engines get better highway fuel economy than the 125-hp 1990 Accord and even come close to the tiny 68-hp 1977 edition. The outgoing Honda Accord managed to hold its own against the recently redesigned Altima and Camry sedans, and the all-new Accord should make Toyota and Nissan sweat even more.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2008 Honda Accord is available in sedan and coupe body styles. The sedan comes in LX, LX-P, EX and EX-L trim levels, while the coupe comes in LX-S, EX and EX-L trims. The sedan's LX-P adds 16-inch alloy wheels, auto up-down front windows and a power driver seat. The EX adds 17-inch wheels and a sunroof to each body style's upgraded LX trim level. The EX sedan gains the in-dash six-CD changer, while the EX coupe gets a premium stereo system with subwoofer. The EX-L trim level adds leather upholstery, auto-on headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats and satellite radio. The EX-L sedan gains the premium stereo system, while the EX-L coupe gains the power driver seat.

The
2008 Honda Accord comes with a choice of powerful and fuel-efficient engines. The LX and LX-P sedans come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 177 hp and 161 pound-feet of torque. An upgraded version of that 2.4-liter engine that makes a class-leading 190 hp is standard on the EX sedans and all coupes. A five-speed manual is standard with the four-cylinder engines, with a five-speed automatic optional. The Accord's fuel economy is very impressive. Both four-cylinder engines with automatic transmissions achieve 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, while the six-cylinder with the automatic gets 19 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. All Accords come standard with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags and full-length curtain airbags.

Driving Impressions
The
2008 Honda Accord maintains the car's traditional mix of both sporty handling and comfort.
