Chrysler Recalling Minivans has announced that they will be recalling around three hundred thousand minivans. And unfortunately, it is the same types of minivans that were recalled a while ago for a problem with condensation with the heating and air tubes that are found in the minivan. It is yet another problem with the heating and cooling system. This time it would seem that the heating and cooling problem could trigger the airbags to deploy. So just which minivans are being affected?
Federal safety regulators have opened an investigation into Dodge and Chrysler minivans from the 2005 model year because the headlights can fail without warning.
The agency says more than 1,500 owners have complained to Chrysler or the government. Chrysler also has received complaints of dimming or flickering headlights. NHTSA said it will analyze consumer complaints and Chrysler's technical information.
Chrysler Group, LLC ("Chrysler") is recalling over 300,000 minivans over concerns that their airbags may deploy inadvertently. The recalls include the Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Grand Voyager, and Chrysler Town & Country minivans. The recall extends as far as Canada with 50,251 minivans and Mexico with 3,748 minivans. The recalls concern a leak from the air conditioning and heating system that may cause the Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module to fail and deploy the airbags.
Chrysler Minivans Have a History of Inadvertent Airbag Deployment
This is not the first recall regarding possible inadvertent airbag deployment.
