2013 GMC Terrain Denali

2013 GMC Terrain Denali
The Terrain Denali is gussied up with such exterior niceties as a signature chrome grille, new headlamps and taillamps, satin chrome accents, body-color front and rear fascias, body-color rocker panels with satin chrome molding, and chrome-finish exhaust outlets.

With the introduction of the Terrain Denali, GMC also announced a new 3.6-liter V-6 engine with direct injection and continuously variable valve timing will replace the current 3.0-liter V-6 engine in Terrain lineup for the 2013 model year. Front-wheel drive is standard on Terrain Denali, with all-wheel drive available for both engines.

Front-wheel drive will be standard on the Terrain Denali along with all-wheel drive available as a choice for consumers.

The
GMC Terrain Denali has a long list of specific features which includes signature chrome grille, body-matched front and rear bumpers, satin chrome accents, rocker panels with satin chrome molding, new headlights and taillights, and a dual chrome exhaust – single on the 2.4L.

2013 GMC Acadia

2013 GMC Acadia
For 2013, GMC has given a needed refresh to the popular and consistent selling Acadia full size crossover SUV.

Continuing the basic Acadia and the Acadia Denali luxury trim line, GMC refreshed several exterior elements giving Acadia some distinctively improved looks and added some enhancements in technology, improved trim features and a new industry first front center air bag.

The
2013 GMC Acadia abandons the pulled-back front grille that characterizes the 2012 Acadia shown here. The redone sheetmetal isn’t as drastically changed in the rear of the 2013 GMC Acadia, where retouched taillights and bold exhaust outlet trim are the big changes.

Speaking of big changes, where the outgoing GMC Acadia needed the most help was inside. The new 2013 GMC Acadia and its in-your-face grille definitely fit in better with the boxy GMC Terrain’s styling. What do you think: has GMC improved the crossover’s design?

GMC unveiled the new
2013 GMC Acadia and Acadia Denali at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, highlighting a new exterior and safety features including the industry's first front center air bag.

"With an award-winning combination of space, capability and fuel-efficiency, Acadia epitomizes GMC's 'never say never' attitude," said Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of GMC Marketing.

Confident design
The new GMC Acadia gets other subtle exterior design updates, including wrap-around rear glass and a new rear spoiler. The redesigned Acadia will be the first vehicle on the market with GMC's new front center air bag system, created to protect drivers and front passengers in far-side impact crashes where the affected occupant is on the opposite, non-struck side of the vehicle. Standard on the GMC Acadia Denali and available on other models are Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems. GMC's Color Touch Radio - first introduced on the 2012 Terrain - is standard in the GMC Acadia. GMC Acadia's most-popular options, including rear-seat entertainment, a Dual SkyScape sunroof and a trailering package, continue to be available.

Exclusive Denali returns
GMC Acadia's popular top-of-the-line Denali trim represents 30 percent of sales, so a high priority was placed on adding premium amenities and refining Denali's signature design cues.

Redesigned lower front and rear fascias
Unique body-side moldings with chrome accents and Denali badges
20-inch machined wheels
Inside, Denali adds standard comfort and safety features, including:
Heated and cooled front seats
Color Touch navigation

2011 GMC Terrain

For 2011, the GMC Terrain is unchanged other than improved voice recognition technology for OnStar.

Like the Chevy Equinox with which it shares everything except exterior styling, the GMC Terrain finds the middle ground between compact and midsize crossover SUVs. The Terrain's grown-up feel isn't just literal, however.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2011 GMC Terrain is a midsize crossover SUV available in SLE 1, SLE 2, SLT 1 and SLT 2 trim levels.

The SLT 1 adds the Convenience package items plus 18-inch wheels and leather upholstery. Every GMC Terrain comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder producing 182 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. The Terrain also comes standard with front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. In performance testing, a front-drive, four-cylinder Terrain went from zero to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds -- on the slow end for the class. Estimated fuel economy stands at 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 20/29/23 mpg with all-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 17 mpg city/25mpg highway and 20 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 17/24/20 with all-wheel drive.

Safety
Every 2011 GMC Terrain comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, a rearview camera and OnStar. In Edmunds brake testing, a four-cylinder Terrain came to a stop from 60 mph in 121 feet. In government crash tests, the Terrain's Chevy Equinox twin received a perfect five stars in all front and side crash categories. The GMC Terrain's cabin is remarkably stylish, particularly by the standards of this typically utilitarian segment.

Driving Impressions
On the move, the
2011 GMC Terrain is impressively quiet and boasts a comfortable ride indicative of a much bigger, more expensive SUV.

2011 GMC Sierra HD

The 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD is offered in regular cab, extended cab or crew cab body styles. Trim levels start at the base Work Truck and climb to the SLE, SLT and new range-topping Denali.

The Work Truck trim level includes 17-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, a trip computer, vinyl floor coverings, a 40/20/40-split front bench with fold-down center armrest, vinyl upholstery, a tilt steering wheel and a four-speaker AM/FM stereo. Many of the SLE features are available on the Work Truck as options.

The SLT trim level is only offered on extended and crew cab body styles and augments the SLE's features list by adding 18-inch alloy wheels, foglights, an automatic locking rear differential, a heavy-duty trailering package (with integrated trailer brake controller), heated exterior mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, steering-wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, remote starting, heated leather front bucket seats with power adjustments, a floor-mounted front center console, Bluetooth, and an upgraded Bose stereo system with a USB port. The standard power plant for the 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD is a 6.0-liter gasoline V8 engine that produces 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard for all models, with four-wheel drive optional.

Properly equipped, a
2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD can haul up to 3,704 pounds of payload and tow up to 13,000 pounds with its standard ball hitch, and 16,500 pounds with a fifth-wheel connection. Aiding trailering on downhill grades, the diesel engine also features a big-rig-inspired exhaust braking system to increase control and reduce brake wear.

In terms of safety, the
2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD features antilock disc brakes, stability control, hill-start control and trailer sway control as standard. Front side and side curtain airbags are available as an option.

The
2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD's interior is nearly identical to the previous year's. The extended cab's rear seats are acceptable in terms of comfort, and the crew cab is certainly roomier, though the crew cab trucks from Dodge and Ford provide slightly roomier rear quarters.

Driving Impressions
With all of its chassis improvements, the
2011 GMC Sierra 2500 represents a big step forward for heavy-duty trucks.

2011 GMC Savana

The 2011 GMC Savana passenger van receives a few updates for 2011, the most notable being the new 6.6-liter Duramax V8 turbodiesel. Now in its 16th year, the current-generation GMC Savana passenger van continues to evolve, carrying over the LS and LT trim levels, which offer seating for up to 15 passengers.

Both rear- and all-wheel-drive variants are available, and they come rated in half-ton 1500 and heavy-duty 2500/3500 variants. For fans of engine power, the Savana offers the highest-output gas and diesel engines in the segment.

The
2011 GMC Savana full-size passenger van is offered in basic LS and well-equipped LT trim levels. The regular-length version with its 115-inch wheelbase is available in half-ton 1500 trim and heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 series with seating for eight to 12 passengers.

The
2011 GMC Savana offers four different powertrains depending on payload rating. The 1500 series features a 5.3-liter V8 with 310 hp and 334 lb-ft of torque, backed by a four-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive or available AWD.

GMC Savana passenger vans feature standard antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, OnStar communications and head curtain side-impact airbags for the first three rows of seating.

The GMC Savana's cabin is definitely geared for function over form. Rear passengers fare better, with the optional 60/40-split driver-side doors making access to the rear seats much easier.

Eight-passenger seating is standard on 1500 models, while 12-passenger seating is included on 2500 and 3500 series vans. A 15-passenger configuration is available on the extended-wheelbase 3500.

2011 GMC Canyon

The 2011 GMC Canyon is a compact truck available with two- or four-wheel drive in three body styles: regular cab, extended cab and crew cab. Crew cabs are equipped with a 5-foot cargo box, while other Canyons feature a 6-foot bed. The extended-cab SLE boasts full power accessories and remote keyless entry.

The extended-cab SLT adds chrome wheels, a leather-trimmed interior and power heated front bucket seats, while the crew cab SLT comes with these features as well as a heavy-duty suspension.

No fewer than three different engines are offered for the
2011 GMC Canyon, including an inline-4, an inline-5 and a V8.
The 5.3-liter V8 (only offered on extended-cab and crew cab models) makes 300 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque.

The Work Truck and SLE models come standard with the 2.9-liter engine but can be equipped with the 3.7-liter engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while the available four-wheel drive features a shift-on-the-fly two-speed transfer case with push-button controls and an optional locking rear differential.

The
2011 GMC Canyon comes standard with the OnStar emergency communications system, antilock brakes, stability control, traction control and head curtain airbags.
The extended- and regular-cab styles earned four stars for driver and front passenger in frontal impacts and four stars for front side impacts.

In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety frontal-offset crash testing, the Canyon extended cab earned a top rating of "Good," while the crew cab got an "Acceptable" rating (second highest of four).

The Canyon's standard suspension is calibrated for a soft and comfortable ride on pavement, while the available Z71 Off-Road Suspension package improves off-road performance at the expense of on-road compliance.

2011 GMC Acadia

The GMC Acadia Denali seems, from the exterior, that it would be the perfect family vehicle. For starters, it advertises 7 passenger seating. Bummer.

Also, for a family vehicle you would assume that there would at least be space in the rear for groceries. With the 3rd row seat in position there is barely enough room for a case of soda. Trying to fit groceries into this space is a fight. The rear air-conditioning system in the
2011 Acadia Denali is loud.

The
2011 GMC Acadia now is available in the premium Denali trim level, which features unique styling elements and a plusher cabin. Available with either front- or all-wheel drive, the Acadia is powered by a strong V6 engine.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2011 GMC Acadia is a large crossover SUV offered in five trims: base SL, SLE, SLT-1, SLT-2 and Denali. The SLT-1 ups the ante with 19-inch wheels, heated mirrors, a variable-assist steering system, tri-zone automatic climate control, rear audio controls and headphone jacks, leather upholstery, heated front seats and a 10-speaker Bose stereo with a USB audio jack.

The SLT-2 adds power-folding heated mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming, additional power adjustments for the front passenger seat, driver memory functions and a Towing Preparation package.

The plush Denali trim level adds unique body treatment (including grille, front/rear fascias, side moldings and wheel flares), 20-inch chrome wheels with black chrome accents, xenon headlights, additional sound insulation, illuminated sill plates, the "SkyScape" power front/fixed rear dual sunroofs, a head-up display, perforated leather upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats and a leather/wood steering wheel.

EPA fuel economy estimates for the front-wheel-drive Acadia are 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. All-wheel-drive Acadia models are very close at 16/23/19 mpg. Properly equipped, the Acadia can tow up to 5,200 pounds.

Safety
Depending on the configuration chosen, the Acadia seats either seven passengers (with second-row captain's chairs) or eight passengers (with a split-folding second-row bench seat) in three rows. Maximum cargo capacity is a generous 117 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded down.

Driving Impressions
Like the other large General Motors crossovers, the
2011 GMC Acadia hits a happy medium between secure handling and a comfortable ride. Opting for the larger 19- or 20-inch wheels can also degrade the Acadia's ride quality.

2012 GMC Terrain New

The 2012 GMC Terrain is putting downward pressure on the price of camera-based forward collision detection and lane departure systems. The GMC system employs a camera for both collision warning and lane departure functions, relying on software to detect vehicles.

For 2012, the GMC Terrain gets a standard touchscreen audio interface that can be paired through Bluetooth audio streaming to Internet-based services like Pandora and Stitcher (late availability). More important to most buyers are the high-tech standard feature upgrades in the passenger cabin, including a touchscreen audio interface that also integrates the standard rearview camera display.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The
2012 GMC Terrain is a midsize crossover SUV available in SLE and SLT trim levels, each of which is subdivided into two different models.

The SLE-2 adds roof rails, automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar adjustment, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upgraded cloth upholstery, Bluetooth and a premium eight-speaker Pioneer audio system. A lane departure warning and forward collision alert system is also available on SLT-2 models.

Every
2012 GMC Terrain comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 182 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. In performance testing, a front-wheel-drive, four-cylinder Terrain went from zero to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds -- on the slow end for the class. EPA estimated fuel economy stands at 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 20/29/23 mpg with all-wheel drive.

Front-wheel-drive and a six-speed automatic transmission are also standard, while all-wheel drive is an option. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 17/24/20 with all-wheel drive.

Safety
The
2012 GMC Terrain comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, a rearview camera and OnStar. In Edmunds brake testing, a four-cylinder Terrain came to a stop from 60 mph in 121 feet.

Driving Impressions
The 2
012 GMC Terrain's standard four-cylinder engine should suit most buyers' needs nicely.

GMC trucka Sierra 1500,Reviews

More recent times have seen GMC's full-size truck adopt the name Sierra, which was previously an upscale trim level.

As with its rivals, the modern-day GMC trucka Sierra 1500 full-size pickup is available with a wide variety of body styles, powertrains and trim levels.

Older versions of the GMC Sierra 1500 pickup have been praised for their strong work ethic, but soundly criticized for their bland, cheap cabins.

Current GMC trucka Sierra 1500
The GMC Sierra 1500 offers three body styles (regular, extended and crew cabs) and trim levels ranging from no-frills "Work Truck" to ultra-plush Denali. Powertrain choices, traditionally a strong point, encompass everything from a frugal 4.3-liter 195-horsepower V6 to a muscular 6.2-liter V8 with 403 hp. Most Sierras, however, will be fitted with either a 295-hp 4.8-liter V8 or a 315-hp 5.3-liter V8.

Calling cards of the
GMC trucka Sierra 1500 include strong performance, a refined and quiet ride (even with the heavy-duty towing package) and a comfortable, well-finished cabin.

Used GMC trucka Sierra 1500 Models

The 6.2-liter V8 option for non-Denali models had arrived the previous year along with its six-speed automatic transmission. Many GMC pickup trucks considered by used-vehicle shoppers will be the previous-generation truck, which was sold for the 1999-2006 model years.

The previous generation of
GMC trucka Sierra 1500 pickups ran from 1988-'98.
